Zandonai, Riccardo

Riccardo Zandonai(1883-1944), Italian composer, studied at the Pesaro Conservatory with Mascagni. In 1935 he became the director of the Rossini Conservatory in his hometown Pesaro. He composed operas, sacred music and orchestral works. His best known opera is "Francesca da Rimini", a free adaptation of a tragedy from Dante's "Inferno".
